We would like to welcome Leon Wert-Lamas PhD, a new postdoctoral fellow who is joining the lab from Institute for Biomedical Research “Alberto Sols“ (Madrid, Spain), where he studied the effects of deregulated non-coding RNAs on thyroid cancer progression and dedifferentiation. Specifically, he evaluated the role of non-coding RNAs in thyroid iodide-metabolizing genes, epithelial-mesenchymal transition and PI3K pathway passenger events. Leon will work on the biological discovery and therapeutic applications of lncRNAs. Congratulations to Cailin Joyce, PhD (Instructor of Medicine), for her Claudia Adams Barr Award for Innovative Cancer Research! "The Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is widely recognized as one of the largest and most successful programs of its kind. Based on a rigorous and highly selective process, the Claudia Adams Barr Program selects the brightest, most creative scientists and funds their most innovative ideas to propel basic research discoveries that transform cancer treatment." |
