We would like to welcome Sabine Studer PhD, a new postdoctoral fellow. Prior to the Novina Lab, Sabine was a part of the Hilvert Lab at ETH Zurich, working on metalloenzyme engineering where she focused on understanding how a simple metal-binding protein can be transformed into a proficient biocatalyst. With us, Sabine will work on epigenetic engineering of disease-relevant loci focused on the BCL11A locus using a de novo methyltransferase recently described by the Novina Lab. She will be co-mentored by our close collaborator, Dr. Dan Bauer (Boston Children’s Hospital).
