We would like to welcome Kushani Shah PhD, a new postdoctoral fellow. She received her B.S. in Biological Sciences from Purdue University, and her PhD degree from University of Alabama at Birmingham, focusing on Biochemistry, Stem cell and Structural Biology. Kushani is especially interested in epigenetic therapies and regenerative medicine. Some of her published work includes discovery of mechanism by which MYC protein hijacks a chromatin modulator protein, DPY30, to drive cancer and metastasis. In line with her interests, Kushani will work on elucidating the biology and dysregulation of lncRNA in disease. As an aspiring PI, she is also passionate about serving as a mentor and supporting students in the field.
